        3. coloured chains? colors in stock?

  13. Brandon
    August 23, 2009 at 3:58 pm

    hi lynten!

i have an old school mtb frame. wonder if it can be converted to a cool fixie, but i hv a tight budget. around 300. i can get normal 700c wheels? and regarding the cranks etc. what do i need to get and how much will the total cost be if those things are the cheapest one in your store, throwing all my savings in for a fixie man, 14yo here. lols.

anyway, email me if you can. harx-brandon@hotmail.com

thankyou so much, ive been longing to get a fixie since 3 months ago

    • August 23, 2009 at 4:57 pm

Hi Brandon, you can use the MTB frame with 700c wheels provided you go brake-less. Hubs will $185, spokes will be $130, I may have a used set for rims for $80. Tires are $90, rim tape is $10, tubes $15. Cog will be $45, lock ring $25.
If you can find a used crank, I might have some chain rings that might fit.
But to be honest, I think it will be much better if you saved up for a proper fixed bike.

      • Brandon
        August 23, 2009 at 4:59 pm

can i just use the normal rims from my mtb? just change the hubs?

      • August 23, 2009 at 5:05 pm

Hi Brandon, do you have a full bike at the moment. Send me some detailed pics so I can advise you what you can keep and what needs to be changed.

        August 23, 2009 at 5:07 pm

thanks sir, will get the pic asap. thx.
btw, it is an old bike.

      • August 23, 2009 at 5:09 pm

Hi Brandon, sometimes the older frame, the easier to convert and slightly cheaper.

      • Brandon

        hi,

  14. Brandon

  15. Brandon
    August 23, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Campagnolo Veloce Ergopower Brake Levers Shifters 10 Speed

but not STI one, is just braking only.

but you hv stocks for those with shifters?

    • August 23, 2009 at 8:33 pm

Hi Brandon, yes, have those for brakes only, but if you want the STI or ERGO ones, you have to be more specific as they are not compatible.

  16. Brandon
    August 23, 2009 at 8:34 pm

hi, same brandon again. I have this old budget road bike. but the front calipers have problem. after posting some questions on the togoparts forum, i found out that i need a sort of longer calipers as the brakes are short.

need to change the front first

how much is the cheapest caliper which can work here? im a newbie. thanks.

    • August 26, 2009 at 8:55 am

Hi Brandon, I will have to see the bike first, but I think i shld have some in stock, $75 for a good quality. For ONE caliper only

      • Brandon
        August 26, 2009 at 2:59 pm

its a 47-57mm brake calipers. any cheaper one? this is a lousy lowend bike which costs just 200bucks.. a newbie bike which served me quite long.

      • August 26, 2009 at 4:48 pm

the reason for the cost, is becos its going to be stronger then the one you have.
